Split a multi-part DXF into individual parts, without uploading anything.
Drop a DXF file containing multiple parts into your browser and get one clean DXF per part, with a CSV file a parts report to go with it. The file is parsed, split and written on your own machine, so your drawing is never uploaded to us.
No card required. Your first nest is free, up to 100 parts.
- Nothing uploaded
- No install
- DXF in, DXF out
- First nest free

The job nobody wants
You get a multi-part DXF. You need separate files.
It arrives as a single DXF with forty parts sitting on a sheet, and you need each one on its own - to re-nest it your way, to quote it properly, or to send it to a different machine than the one it was laid out for.
So somebody opens it in CAD and starts exploding, selecting, copying and saving-as, part by part, checking each time that they haven't clipped an internal cutout or lost the text that was sitting inside the outline.
On a small nest that's a tedious twenty minutes. On a big one it's most of a morning, and it's exactly the sort of job where one missed hole doesn't announce itself until the part has been cut on the machine.
There are other online tools that will do this for you. Nearly all of them want your file on their server first.
How it works
Three steps, about two minutes
Open your DXF
Drag the DXF onto the page. It opens straight away, in the browser, the same way it would in a viewer. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Check the parts
DXF Splitter finds the individual parts and outlines them. You can see what it found before you commit to anything, deselect any you don't want, apply tolerances, set units of measure, disable layers/borders, etc.
Export
One DXF per part, zipped, named how you want them. A CSV with all part data and parts report with dimensions are saved automatically.
Where your file goes
Your drawing doesn't leave your computer
This isn't a policy or a promise about how carefully we look after your files. There's nothing to look after. The parsing, the part detection and the DXF writing all happen in your browser, on your machine, using your processor. No copy of your geometry is transmitted, stored or seen by us, because none is ever sent.
It is still a web application. It loads its code from us, it checks your account and your plan period. All of that is numbers and account details. None of it is your drawing.
For most customers none of this matters. If you're a subcontractor under NDA, or working to export control, it matters a great deal - and it's usually the reason the online options get ruled out before anyone has looked at what they actually do.
Output
What comes out the other end
One clean DXF per part
Outer profile, internal cutouts and any text that belonged to that part, kept together and moved to a sensible origin. Zipped up, named to a template you set.
Layers handled on the way out
Keep them as they are, strip the ones you don't want, or remap them - so a customer's engraving layer arrives as your marking layer without anyone editing anything by hand.
CSV data and PDF parts report
Every part with its size, quantity and cut length, as CSV for your system and PDF for costing.
Duplicates counted, not repeated
Choose to deduplicate on export. Where the same part appears eight times on the sheet, you get one file and a quantity of eight.
Scope
What it isn't
It isn't a nesting package
It goes the other way - nests in, parts out. If what you actually need is to lay parts onto a sheet efficiently, JETCAM Expert has the most effective nesting algorithm in the industry.
It isn't CAM
There are no toolpaths, no lead-ins and no machine post-processors. It hands you DXFs and expects your existing software to take it from there.
Detection has limits
Cleanly separated parts are found reliably. Any identified problems are highlighted.
Powered by JETCAM
Built by people who do this for a living
The DXF Splitter is made by JETCAM, who have been writing award-winning CAD/CAM nesting and automation software since 1986 and have over 10,000 licences running in more than 80 countries. We have spent over forty years on one problem - automation.
